peter Ferrel intercooler...boost leak?

I am expirencing some boost problem 8-4-4 boost pattern. I was looking at the intercooler and found where the bolt that hold the duct were missing living two hold a little bigger than a cigarret. will this two hold make my boost patter go like that?

why not just plug the holes temporarily and take a test drive?

Please use English next time!

Have you checked the cross-over tube for cracks or bad couplers?

Have you read through the troubleshooting page here:

well I try that but I could find anything that will plug in and hold. I just got it fix but have to wait till the morning. there is a truck mechanic down the street and he put a plug a epoxy and he said that will hold at 10psi, he does this all the time on trucks so I hope it works.

Of course those holes could cause a boost leak, they are holes in you plumbing. Do you not use the duct? If so, bolt it on there, or go to home depot and get some short bolts (and maybe a couple fiber washers and plug them up pronto.

Hey way to go ********, why don't you make fun of the guy for trying to fix his car. Most of you bash people for trashing FD's, and here he is fixing it and you're bashing him, ******...

Anyway, yeah those could cause the leak, but i would think you wouldn't see any pressure from two holes the size of cigarettes. They'd leak out ALL of the air wouldn't they?

Where exactly are the holes, on the coupler?, in the pipe?

Well, I have the PFS intercooler and would like to try to help you. Unfortunately I couldn't understand what you were even saying. I did give you one thing to check and then gave you a link to one of the best turbo troubleshooting pages around. So thanks for calling me an *** wipe (I guess you learned all of the proper english first.. )

BTW, I have no sympathy for people who don't learn english. If I moved to another country, I would expect to have to be fluent in speaking and reading/writing the language of that country....if you don't like that sentiment, oh well....

Are you kidding me? What do you consider fluency? A guy comes to the states and learns our language and you have "no sympathy for people who don't learn english"! Who the **** are you? Why don't you try moving to a foriegn country and let's see how long it takes you to master your second language. I moved to Spain 3 years ago, and I'm fluent in the language now, but that's not to say I communicate perfectly. Thank god the Spanish people don't have your attitude, and are appreciative that some foriegners make an effort to learn.

What the ****!?

Hey I'm in the Navy too. how about next just tell me what I did wrong intead of insulting. Yes I check the link above. I will look into it when I get a chance but I'm thinking of just taking it to the RX-7 Store and have a full check done in the car and fix that problem or may be just run them non- seq. Let's quit the name calling and just try to help each other out, that's what this forum is all about. for everyone

Definietley put the 10mm bolts back in the holes,
That is definitely your boost leak. Those holes go directly into the end tanks.

I understood what you were saying just fine. Typos dont bother me.

so now you go and call my mother a ***** in spanish? i've got an idea. why don't you go back to spain and stay there?! i'm sure rynberg, like myself, would prefer to stay here, and speak ENGLISH. if someone wants to post here and then gets mad because they can't type a legible sentence, then they deserve to get flamed.

If it was the holes on the intercooler that the boost was leaking from. Wouldnt you hear a loud type of whistle while under boost? Cuz that happend to me when my piping had a hole in it.Just wondering.Later.

Regardless of what a person speaks, this is a RX7 board..although it wasn't easy to read his post, it wasn't horrible for english being his second language..

anyhoo, if there is ANY holes in piping leading from the IC then it will leak most of the boost out - I had that problem but it was with the stock IC piping - didn't make any whistling noises - just slow as a dog - putting the exoxy in there will probably help - good luck

Didn't read all the cat fighting. Lay off guys..

Anyway sounds like you do have a problem with boost leakage, the problem is that isn't your only problem. See if you have a 8-4-4 pattern that means you have a problem with the boost control system. You get 8psi on your first turbo, and 4psi on your second. If a boost leak was your only problem you'd more likely have 4psi on the 1st turbo and 8psi on the second.

Do a search on boost problems and while your at it either get the IC welded up and retapped for the bolt or figure something else out.

Good luck, don't worry about the english, I understood you.

lmfao...Americans showing what you're really about...He asked for help. And you criticize him for his english not being great. Then you get MAD when he gets mad. English isn't my first language. Took me about 10 years to learn it.

Either way, I think that your boost patter isn't caused by the intercooler since your getting an 8 then a 4-4. I think it's possible that it's caused by something else other than the intercooler i.e. solenoids busted/vacuum hoses dry rotted.
