personal survey

has anyone had a problem with their car, that when u rev it up, the check engine light will blink on, the car sputters and than the light goes off by the time it reaches idle?

if so, what was it?

if u found out what is was, how did u fix it?

thanks

I've seen it once and only once in my FD. Dunno what it was...presuming it was momentary detonation or something.

Have you checked to see what the check engine code is?

I know someone with a car like this. It revs fine up to 5000 or 5500 rpm, then it's like it hits a wall sputtering and missing, the check engine light will flicker (not blink). It happens under boost, not under boost and even with the clutch in.

The code isn't stored, there are about 7 things (I think) that will cause the engine to go into limp home mode but the ECU won't store the code.

The CEL should STAY ON in limp mode - Also in Limp mode the engine should NOT rev freely past 3000 rpm.

mine dont stay on, and it gets better, to almost non existant, after it runs for a while, but its still there if u rev it slower in neutral, and when u push the clutch pedal in, its worse, but almost non driveable at first crank, and while, and only while, its cutting out, and sputtering around, the light blinks, than goes out, so what do yall think?
