As fast as a CBR600? Not really...

 

They do 0-100 in 8 mine does it in about 10-11 but thats what he said, Im actually thinking of getting some of the RX7 FAQ answers printed out and posted around the car, im sick of answering the same questions, a big *** "door handle" sticker on the outside with an arrow will be first. pictures to follow

 

Hmm I suppose if you have a big single but I have a CBR600RR and its wayyy faster than my FD.

He said CBR600... That could include any year CBR600. When I was basically stock with just intake/exhaust I beat an older CBR600 by 1 car length.

 

Must have been pretty old then, unless he was too scared to push it... like me haha. I mean whens the last time a CBR600 ran high 13s? Current ones are like 10.4-10.5

I'm not usually that shocked or surprised by powerful HP cars as I have been in and driven a few through friends, family, etc.... but I will always remember the day I first sat in my friends 450rwhp single turbo RX7... we drove from his house to join the motorway and even though he wasn't pushing it (taking it to only 4k) the car felt quick and the sounds coming out of the engine bay were awesome... turbo, wastegate, BOV all going off.. I was thinking there and then this car's definately got some potential. Anyway, we get on the slip road joining the motorway.. as soon as we get on the motorway he puts his foot down... all of a sudden I feel myself being thrown back into my seat... the sounds that were previously coming out of the engine bay had multipled by 10 in terms of volume... I could feel the wastegate and exhaust shaking my feet... I look at the speedo and within a few seconds from 100kph the speedo needle is off the clock (180kph)... then he shuts down and I'm like DAMN !!! he tells me he only went from 4k to 6.5k ... needless to say that this was the first and only time I was actually kinda nervous and grabbed the door handle, first time I ever been in a car which made me think OH **** !!

 

most of them i have given a ride say let me the f### out!! thats because im a kinda se what happens kinda driver its fun like that

 

I love all these...hopefully someday I will have something to contribute.

Oh, I just got a new one the other night:

Just a quick bump down the street, but we go WOT in first, and once the secondary kicks in I hear gagging sounds in the passenger seat, lol.

 

If it was a female,did it sound sexy?If it was a male,let's pretend I never asked..

 

Yeah and the major reason is because they can launch and accelerate so hard at low speeds, there isn't much weight there. Over 80mph they start slowing way down from drag.

 

Well the ladies love it.. Again I say its a PUNNANY magnet.

dad : 'why the hell is your car so noisy ??? (kakimoto, make ur ears bleed 3" exhaust + hks ssqv + turbo spool)
me: well.... i dunno.... when you bought it for me it was already like this..... (smirk)

out of the corner of my eye i can see my fathers arms waving stupidly around the side looking for a handle. with BOTH hands.... LOL ROFL

 

I used to love giving rides in my FD while I had it. My Fiance (at the time, now my wife) would get all of her friends to ride in the car. I would always get "your car looks cute" or "Don't go too fast". When the second turbo kicked in and the back end kicked out there were not any questions though. I got a few screams and alot of them just turned white.

My Father-in-law was great and probably the best of the reactions. As a teenager he had a few muscle cars including a High Output Transam, so he has been around fast cars before. I kinda just putted around a bit and then let him get behind the wheel. I told him just to hold the gas down until the buzzer sounded and then shift real fast. I have never seen his eyes get that big when the second came online. He shut it down after 2nd gear and just pulled over to the side of the highway. Said "I refuse to drive this car again. It is way too damn fast."
