Pcv Valve!!!

Can someone please tell me where I can buy a PCV valve. If a 93 RX-7 doesn't have one then please tell me why it is in the service manual and on the parts fiche. Mazdatrix is telling me that they don't make those for the RX-7 but I see it in the service manual. Am I going crazy? Please help.

Funny I have a 94 and it's on there. Pretty sure the 93 had it as well.

From what I understand, the 95's don't have it for the oil crankcase. They're probably looking at a 95 diagram or something.

I have a 94 and ordered a BRAND NEW one that ended up not holding any pressure. If I were you, I would just plug it up and eliminate any chance of getting boost into the crankcase. Just make sure the other crankcase hose is still hooked up to the primary turbo intake pipe where it vents all the time.

I have a single turbo so I don't have a turbo intake pipe. Any other options for venting the crankcase? Thanks for the help so far guys.

I was alarmed when my new valve didn't hold pressure, too. But it turns out that it is supposed to work that way. It flows freely in one direction, and just restricts (but does not block) flow in the other direction.

Allot of people (single or stock twins) use an oil catch can with a filtered vent comming of the crank case and do away with the pvc all together. jack

Four years or so ago, my car was using approx. 1 quart of oil every 400 miles or so. I can't remember who with Pettit Racing told me to remove the PCV valve and plug both ends to avoid using excessive oil. Since then my car burns/uses 1 quart every 1000-1500 miles and has been running good ever since. No PCV valve here.

UPDATE: I went to a local auto parts store and they let me look around for one that would fit. I found one that worked and everything is fine. I think it's for a Jeep. If you want to know for sure pm me. Thanks for all the help.

bdennis, it is generally a very bad idea to use a PCV value that "fits", rather than OEM.

The wrong PCV valve can cause oil leaks if it does not flow enough and driveability problems. The things are pretty cheap. Get one from Mazda.

Where did you hear that anything other than OEM was bad? If it is that bad then Pettit Racing who told superfastrx7 to plug it would be dead wrong. I'm not telling you that you're wrong, I'm just asking why you think that the one I have is bad. Thanks.
