P/S loop line question w/pics!

Hello everyone.

I recently decided to rid myself of the evil power steering in my FD( got rid of the A/C longggg ago. So at this current stage, I have the P/S pump removed, the bracket and everything else I need to do before looping the two lines. Now, my question is, after looking at a picture of Jimlabs loop, I got slightly confused.

I know that in the picture below, the line circled in red needs to be looped with another line. That much I understand. Now, which is the other line? The blue one is the one that, correct me if I'm wrong, was the other line that Jimlab looped into. Does that connection screw in, and I need to get a fitting that screws in there that I can use to loop with? Does this line lead to the cooling portion in front of the radiator? ( I havent removed that yet)

The line in yellow was the second of the two lines that came off the pump. IS it just these two lines that I need to loop? if its not this line, what should I do with this one? plug it off? Or is where the other side of the cooling line goes to?

Thanks for the clarification everyone

If I'm not mistaken, if the blue is the line that went to one end of the PS cooler, then yes, that's what you tie to the red. I'm doing the same but haven't quite gotten that far.

If i remember correctly the blue is one end of the ps cooler and the yellow section is the other... So undoing the blue which connects to the cooler which connects to the yellow all comes out

I got a loop from Rich at Gotham racing, it was like $35. That way you have all the proper fittings, ect. Also, you cant mess it up cause the fittings only fit where they are supposed to.

I'm also purchasing the loop from Rich. does it come with instructions, or is it just straight forward?

So I must remove the blue and yellow as one piece ( the cooler) and then one of the fittings screws into where the blue was. Then I must loop it with the red.

You can remove the loop independently of everything else. Just be sure to cap things else you'll spew fluid. The PS pump can be a PITA sometimes (bolts are on there good).

I have the pump and everything off already. I dont have the cooling line off in front of the radiator. I'm just confused as to which two lines I loop together =\

Yea, its pretty straight forward, the fittings are different sizes and will only fit where it needs to go. Once you pull the PS pump lines off the rack you just screw it in. There really isnt much to mess up

Red and blue. Yellow doesn't exist...if it still does, you must not have pulled the PS.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure I'm not...

IVe got the pump off, but not the cooler line, so Im assuming as other people stated that thats gonna be removed to take out the cooling portion.

I'm making this so much more confusing then it needs to be?! Oh and christian to hijack my own thread, how much was gingerman when you raced? wasnt it on the vette day? We're gonna race sunday for test and tune from 5pm + because the vette day was like 180 bucks or somthing like that.

Hmmm, going off memory here but I believe you pull the red line then the blue and yellow on your pic is the same line. It goes from the pump as a rubber line (the yellow on in your pic) then turn into a hard line, goes across the car making that little curvy section then goes back along the crossmember and ends up being that blue line in your pic. Basically undo all that crap pull it out of the car so you have some room, turn your steering wheel back and forth a few times to get the excess fluid out of the rack then install the Gotham line where the 2 remaining holes are, and it only fits one way

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I went outside and took off the blue connection ( damn what a bitch in such a small area) I couldnt get it off for the life of me, so I sprayed some liquid wrench on it and let it sit for about 10 min and it popped right off then.

So now I have everything ready to loop, and im awaiting the loop line from rich which will hopefully be here wednesday.

Stephen how do you like the Looped P?S ? I drove around for 5 months without the belt on, but had the P/S pump and lines still on there and it really wasnt to bad, but from what I hear this is a night and day difference and I cant wait.

Please help, I need some tips on how to remove the power steering pump. Do I need to remove the pulley first, if so, what tools do I need? Thank!
