Question Opening Blocked Oil Cooler Vent on Touring Model?

Will opening the blocked off "oil cooler vent" on a touring model accomplish anything? Considering the limited opportunities for increased airflow, if I remove the piece blocking the vent, where will this air go? Will it help at all?

I have seen people do all sorts of things like snorkeling the intake down to there, or creating ducting to route fresh air to the intake with 3" dryer hose.

I was thinking of the following:

1) Make the washer fluid resevor (sp?) into the new coolant overflow (who needs washer fluid anyway). Opted not to re-install the washer sprayers on my Mazdaspeed hood.

2) Remove the old coolant overflow resevor

3) find some way to get ducting to the second turbo and put the Apexi Intake filter for the second turbo down in that opening.

Sounds doable to me!

Here is the front of my car w/out bumper. Notice the size of the coolant overflow resevor, it looks like I could easily get ducting down there!!!
