OMP clean oil adapter – Alternative idea

I was investigating the availability of oil metering pump adapters on the market which provide clean oil supply rather than used engine oil.
There are a couple of options available that are essentially a sandwich block blanking plate with a separate oil supply.

After studying the original FD OMP, I noticed there is a bung at the base of the supply oil gallery which is also open to the engine oil supply port..

If anyone has a sound understanding of how the OMP works, I’d like to hear any comments as to why this plugged gallery couldn’t be converted to a supply opening where clean oil is provided.
A 1mm thin blanking plate sandwiched between the engine and pump would close off the engine oil supply, and the new port added to the existing pump gallery becomes the oil supply.

You've got the right idea, except that the separation is harder than you've imagined. The "blanking plate" would probably seal fine around the outside edge but hot oil @ 120+ psi is going to find a way through the hole you will need for the pump shaft.

The rotary aviation adapter has a seal on the shaft as well as the outer O-ring. If you can duplicate that design with your blanking plate, no reason you couldn't use the supply gallery in your images.
