OMP adapter- running premix from a reservoir, sensor wiring questions
Hey everyone, im about to undertake a project in which the oil injectors are replaced by rotary aviation's adapters that allow the omp to suck 2 stroke oil from a remote reservoir and allow the engine to run synthetic without having to premix every single time i refuel. im thinking of using some type of reservoir off any car, kinda like a coolant reservoir. id fill it with oil and have it drain from the bottom. also, im thinking about putting in a oil level sensor. and now for the question- im gona plug the oil level sensor in and id like to have a warning light go off whenever it gets to whatever level i plug the sensor in. now ive never taken out my oil level sensor and studied it so i wanna know how is it gona wire up to give the sensor power, and how do i make the light turn on whenever its running low? wirings not my expertise, maybe a crudely drawn picture would give me an idea of what to do. thanks much

Thats a sweet assed idea, I'd just wire it in with any + lead from somewhere in the engine bay. The FSM's list wiring diagrams.
Im gonna take a look at this kit right now!

Easiest and most pain free thing to do would be to buy another stock oil level sensor for your new reservoir and just splice its wires directly to the original sender in the pan. The sensor merely grounds the signal to indicate a low oil level (schematic on page Z-44), there is NO voltage present on either wire to the sender. You would now have two sensors and either of them would trip the low oil level light if you wire it this way. Once the light came on you would of course have to check both the pan and the reservoir to see which one is low.
I would not use a plastic container. I would use some sort of small steel or aluminum container (such as a catch can) to hold the OMP oil.
