ok, possible turbo issue......thought?

ok so i had my tuner in the car trying to fix my top end fuel issue. and when im at say 3k rpms (not in my boost area ye) and nail it, it starts to spool, but makes a sund like the turbo is surging. makes a whoshin kinda noise.....untill it hit full boost. almost like its leaking somewhere. he thinks it is either a check valve or the turbos going out. which sucks b/c they are the 99' twins...and thoughs or ideas on what it could be ?

Based on past experience, I highly doubt it's the turbos. Much more likely it's something with the control system.

If he's blaming the turbos he's not the mechanic to be solving the problem.

I wonder if you have a leak on the charge relief hoses. But it's probably a plain old boost leak.

A lot of people have boost leaks when installing new intercoolers or just new couplers and clamps. You might have missed something, especially if you noticed it immediately after you installed the the couplers and clamps. But is sounds like the charge relief is leaking, Ive had it happen numerous times.

also, watching my boost gauge when the car is at say, 3k rpms (too low of an rpm to really build boost) and nail it, it will go to say 5 psi and almost pulse 5-7-5-7-14. it flutters for a second till it gets to like 4-4500 rpms then go to full boost
