Ok, I know this is kinda ghetto, but.....

I think I've found the source of my boost leak. The lower IC hose(stock IC) has 4 splits in the ribbing. Is it possible to temporarily repair the hose duct tape/hot glue/whatever to do a boost test until I get a new hose? I'd like to be sure I've found the issue before I sit smugly waiting for my new hose.

Where's the best place to get an inexpensive replacement hose? Can I go to the local hose company( there's a shop down the street that only sells hoses for auto/industrial purposes ), should I call Ray, or does one of the online stores carry them?

Thanks guys!

Duct tape will not work unless you layered it very heavily. Get a used one from Fritz Flynn, if not, I can sell you one as well (though, I'd like to sell it with my SMIC.

I had this problem a couple times when I was on the stock IC. I didn't ever find anything that would hold up to 12psi for more than about 1 run.

Once you get a new hose, go to home depot or lowes and get a "sewer clamp" it's basically a sleeve that you can put over your lower IC hose to prevent it from splitting in the future. I forget the size. Just separate the rubber from the clamp and use the clamp portion around your IC hose. It isn't very visible so it doesn't look too ghetto

It's similar to this, but larger:

Are Fritz's hoses the stock hoses, or better than stock. Actually I just found out a guy I know locally is installing a new intercooler in a friend's car. If his hose is still good I'll probably get that. Thanks!

Fritz doesnt make hoses. He usually sells RX-7 parts.

It would be good if you go back to your original thread and leave an update on the solution.

As well, I have some very good stock IC hoses that I PM'd you about. You're describing (as I understand it) the elbow-shaped hose that feeds into the bottom of the intercooler. IMO the stock replacement is fine. The only aftermarket option I know of is the bent aluminum tubing like this: http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/greddy3pcskit.htm

It seems most of these suggestions relate to a straight coupler, which is not the same thing. (Another common failure point, but not the same thing).

Yes, it's the elbow that feeds into the bottom of the intercooler. Thanks Dave, I'll update my original thread.
