Oil pressure and takeoff

I have a couple of quesitons that I hope you all can help with. I have a 93 auto that has a rebuilt engine with 5000 miles. I have noticed that when the car is warm at idle my oil pressure is reading 0 or just above 0 with 10w/30 oil. Also my car does not use any oil over a 3000 mile period. Also, my car seems to launch very slow. Is this normal for autos?

Thanks

everything you mentioned is normal.

As long as the oil pressure gauge rises above just above 0 when you accelerate, you're fine.

If you want to use some oil over the 3K period, try flooring it everwhere you go... run the revs up a few times and you'll do some good oil burning. hehe

To get a better launch with the auto, you might try holding the brake and gas at the same time then let the brake loose... that way you will have built up some boost before the car starts moving.
