What's the purpose of the gas filter on the press. sensor?

If you look on the vac. hose diagram there is a gas filter connected to the press. sensor. What does it do? After doing the hose job I noticed that I don't have one of these filters. I wonder if Pettit removed mine or is this the reason why I'm not getting any boost?

It's there to prevent contaminants from getting into the pressure sensor :p

Not really, but if that little filter IS clogged up, then your MAP sensor won't be reading the correct pressure, and you could run lean..

To filter gas.

Keeps the MAP sensor clean. It's always nice to have more than 1 boost guage on any turbo car. I have 3: Apex SAFC, HKS EVC4, and autometer Boost guage on A Pillar.

That little freaking filter is about $20! But then again it is supposedly protecting the sensor which if I remember correctly is around $400.00. I would bite the bullet and put it on. These prices for OEM parts are gettting out of control - there should be a law.

the gas filter is to smoothen out vacuum pulses....to give more consistent stable vacuum readings
