Oil pressure problem

This might not be the typical oil pressure problem. A new sender was replaced and it still reads 28lbs at idle, 35lbs at 3krpm, and 55lbs at 5krpm. We even used a mechanical pressure gauge to do the readings. Compression is really good on both rotors so I don't think it's the bearings. No metal shavings were found in the oil pan either. The engine has only about 2,600 miles with a street port. Could it be a bad oil pump? What else can it be?

My original engine had one of the two e-shaft oil jets come out and it had similar oil pressure readings. But mine was obvious because the jet stayed within the rotor space and was banging around at 1/3 rpm rate.

Was your pressure like that from day one on this engine, and who built the engine? Maybe they left one out.

I run racing oil jets which do not have the ball and spring, and a friend runs stock jets without the ball and spring and we both have normal oil pressure.

Or maybe the seals between the front side housing and front cover are leaking.

It's a Atkins built motor. It was built in 01 so they dont have any real history on it other then the invoice that says it was port and polished. 3mm seals were used. I called them and they did say that only new oil parts are used if needed. Old parts are usually used if they are still in great shape. I will ask my mechanic about the oil jets.

Turned out the front bearing was worn really bad and I'm assuming the rear is as well. He is going to pull it out and replace if needed. God all these repairs for the oil pressure and engine mount has costed me 3,350 alone and there is still a gang of **** I need to do before I can take the car home. It hasn't even seen the front of my house yet. I'm assuming I'll have a bill for 4k after I'm done. I might as well have bought a new reman and had it installed and worked on this motor on the side. Talk about money pit. I've never felt so broke in my life. I guess in the end this will be all worth it when the bloody car is running and has passed smog. Wish me luck guys. So far this has been a frustrating journey into the world of 3gen FDs.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the FD.

I know how you feel man, I think we all do. Everyone hates it when stuff breaks. But once the car is running good there is little else that can be compared to a properly running FD.
