oil pressure gauge being retarded

My oil pressure gauge will behave good on startup and the first 1/2 or so of driving. But it seems after that it decides to stick a lot. Will be at almost 0 on idle, but not even making it up to 30 when being floored.

I'll shut the car off, even for 10-15 minutes, and when I start it back up it's cool for at least a little while longer.

Is there any way to fix this, or will a replacement have to be on order?

Thanks man. It's just weird that it's so erratic. I hate intermittent problems!

Just clean the sender. If that doesn't work, replace it. The gauge itself works great. This has been discussed dozens of times in the last 6 months.....
