oil pan question

I was wondering how important that sensor at the bottom of the oil pan is? im assuming that is a oil temp sensor of some kind. just curious if it is crucial that the wire is intact.

Grind out the resin with a small rotary bit and solder the wire back in place .Then fill the top with resin or epoxi .

Pretty important. Without the sensor plugged in your oil light will stay on and you won't know if the car runs low on oil. It only takes seconds of oil starvation to spin bearings.
