Oil pan and Fuel tank baffles?
Does anyone make an oil baffle plate for the FDs? I know the RB has them for the FCs, but what about the FDs?
Also are there baffles in the fuel tank of all the FDs? Or is it just the 94+? Is there anyway to add the baffles, or mush you repalce the tank?

The oil pan already has a baffle plate, however its horizontal. The gas tank has a plastic one as well, it's more of a box type but it does a decent job. If you want a better one, you will need a different tank.

The fuel tank is baffled, the oil pan is heavily baffled. The oil pan baffles aren't just plates but entire steel "ballons" that displace oil with air to make the oil level higher without adding tons of oil.
The fuel tank baffles are all the same for 93-95 as far as I know. They are all steel, there is a plastic fuel cup that the fuel pump sits in. In 1996 Mazda added a small steel cover to the plastic fuel cup that the pump sits in. I have a new 1996 fuel tank from Mazdaspeed Motorsports that helps fuel starvation during autocrosses. I used to have to run AT LEAST 5/8 of a tank of gas or suffer starvation problems, now I've run it to 1/4 tank before I've had any starvation.

Looks like a square baffle with a maze like entry that starts at the right front, entering the main topless box at the left front?
my $02 would be a "turbojeff" sump/bucket kit that attaches to the pump. Pump would sit in bucket, which has a bosch pre-pump on the side, powered off main pump, that keeps the bucket full. pre-pump has the filter sock on it. return flow could also help fill bucket.
any interest in a $150 in-tank kit that uses current pump and ends starvation? I'd get one.

Jeff, I had the same poblem when I was autocrossing. Scarred me quiet abit when it first happened. Luckaly there was a couple rx-7 guys there that mentioned to me about the low fuel leval problem. Is it the new fuel tank that fixed the problem or can I buy just the small steel cover? Has any one starved ther fuel pump under straight aceleration? I think I might have but not shure.

The cover is something like $270, the new tank is something like $350 (prices could be off but relatively they are close). I went for the new tank
.

turbojeff, do you think the price justifies the tank swap?
I just was not sure if there was an oil baffle plate like the FCs have (aftermarket that is), or if it is really needed.

The factory FD oil pan baffles are quite a bit better than the aftermarket FC baffle.
