Oil in my airfilter!!

I just recently took off my intake and saw oil on the filter and that there was oil at the large hose going to the turbo(the lower hose, don't know wich turbo it goes to). I've read that it's normal with alittle oil in my airbox but is it normal with oil at the hose im talking about? there's no oil at the upper hose but is that because it's the upper one??

I hope u understand my bad description.

There should be a little oil in the i/c piping and maybe a little in the hose you're talking about. Feel for shaft play cause more then likely the seals are going on it. Are you burning/blowing more oil then normal?

nope my car seems in good health when i drive it. I have 3000rpm hesitation and thats all.

Maybe the oil is being drawn to the turbo hose since the hose is placed near the bottom of the airbox??? This is just a wild guess

The turbos will still act fine until the seals get pretty bad and alot of play. Is their oil on the compressor wheel or around it?

I would clean all the oil out and drive it good for a week and see if it comes back.

That could be the case if your bov isn't vented.

That oil in the Air box comes from the second turbo through the CRV hose and from both turbos thru the intake via the BOV, also oil gets in the primary intake through the PCV system - the PCV vents into the primary intake when on boost. It is the only place in the intake system that Always has a small bit of Vacuum.

Don't take them apart, just peek in the ends, feel for shaft play and look for oil. The tubine blades should be clean.

echo maxpeace. The PCV system routes from the oil filler neck to both the underside of the plenum and the intake elbow for the primary turbo. Oil mist as it is drawn into the PCV system from the oil filler neck (when under vacuum) makes it's way to both these locations and over time you will see a small amoun of oil buildup in the entire intake tract. A light covering up to small puddles at the connections. Don't immediately point a finger at turbo seals. Chances are it's nothing to be alarmed about...perfectly normal in these cars.

I had that happen too when I recently took my car to Petit for some upgrades. Cam told me that it might be the synthetic oil that I was running and reccomended that I go back to 20w50. He didnt seem too concerned but I had to replace my upper IC hose because the oil had swelled the hose. Otherwise the car runs strong. What causes this? Is it really due to synthetic oil getting passed the seals? The car seemed to run better on the synthetic but I dont want to take any chances.
