oil metering pump maybe?

Just after some help with my rx had it stood for a while now, i have a lot of smoke (blue) when car is on tickover, its that bad that if left for ten mins the car will actually stop running due to the bottom left plug (as you look at them) oiling up really badly and causing it to not fire.If you start the car and rev it its sweet as a nut with no smoke at all.It sounds like the omp is in trouble to me if so has anyone got a plan on how to convert to pre mix?

Does the car stop smoking at high rpm? It sounds like the OMP may be locked in full output condition all the time...

if it's only sending oil to one housing, you might have a cracked/broken line, or the line might be clogged. best way to fix either of those issues is to replace the lines (i just made new ones for $20!) but that won't fix the problem if it's the oil metering pump itself that's having problems.

Flyingfitter ive had quite a bit of experience with the oil metering on these cars (dont ask lol). If your oil metering pump was stuck on full open and your using a standard ECU you can pull the ECU codes and see if any tie up to the metering pump.
guys could it possibly be a stuck oil control ring in the housing?? car been left stood for a while??

you'll need the proper tools to pull the code, just go to a parts store (like Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, or England's equivalent) and have them pull the code. there's a small plastic box about the size of a golf ball on the driver's side (of a left-hand drive car), up against the fender. it says "diagnosis" on it. that's where you plug in.

Okay thanks i will have a lookdoes anyone in the uk know where to get a reader from?Is there a fuse you can pull to stop the omp working so i can try pre mixing?
Also on my mr2 turbo you can put a paper clip across two terminals and read the code off the dash board is this possible on the rx?

the omp is both mechanically and electrically driven. if you want the electrical stepper motor to stop just unplug it near the pressure chamber under the alternator.

a power fc will tell you what voltages the omp is putting out and will disregard the faulty signal it sends out which causes the stock ecu to go into limp mode, then you can premix all you want.

You don't need to go to an auto parts store to read the codes.
