Oil light Coming on

My oil light comes on when my Oil preassure gauge goes above 60 psi. I recently purtchased this FD and havnt changed the oil yet. Havnt been driving it either I just took it out for a test spin. The oil level seemed to be fine but the oil pressure seems a bit high (hitting 90 psi at WOT on top end) and Im guessing thats whats tripping the light. What could be causing this.

Nope, never had the light come on...

However, the oil pressure should increase as the workload of the engine increases. At WOT, you should see around 100-110 depending on the type of oil that is in the car..

I suggest getting the oil change then and see if the problem presists. Make sue you use the right oil as well, the weight will depend on where you live and climate, but I like heavier oil, since I run my car hard and I live in LA, where the temps never really get that cold. Use Syntetic as well.

The light came on in my car B4. It was when I first bought it. I took it for an oil change and it never came back on again.
Check your oil level. Check if you have any leaks.
God damn, go change the oil. You don't know how long that oil has been in there.

Maybe you need a new sensor? I think it's the oil pressure switch that sends the signals. It's above and to the right of your spark plugs.
$90 for a new one.

Is the oil preassure sensor the same as the low oil sensor?

I read some where that the low oil sender is somewhere on the oilpan or near the oilpan, can anyone confirm this? and that it is different from the oil preasure sender?

vudoodoodoo - that piece of machinery looks dirty, id be happy to take it off your hands

Oh yeah! DUH! I took the oil level sensor off my old engine and put it on the new one. Didn't think about that. Yeah, it's on the oil pan. Opposite the oil drain plug. I belive there are 3 screws to unscrew to remove. Then just pull it straight out.
Oh yeah, drain the oil first.
