ON Oil leak!!

so for the week that i was able to drive my FD from purchasing it to putting it away in to storage for the winter i had noticed a small oil leak . After storing it for the winter and taking a look at it today its been leaking through the winter , the leak looks like its coming from the top of the oil pan between the pan and the sub frame at the front there.

when you take a look in the engine bay there is no sign of oil , even when u shine a flash light down to where the oil filter sits there is no oil leaking of any sort , so my thoughts are its leaking from near the bottom.

anyone have any other ideas of what it could be , in the back of my head i may need a new oil pan but any feed back would be great.

i plan on the jacking the car up higher later on this week so i can get a better look and idea of what is happening

Im also new here but Ive read several threads about the oil pan not sealing properly. Do a search on that, there is a recommended method for sealing the oil pan properly. I believe this process calls for a new oil pan. Also check out Banzai Racings website, they sell some items like a brace kit for the oil pan that I hear are nice to have.

hey , thanks

so i did some more searching and came across this thread...
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/mythbusters-time-oil-pan-motor-mounts-488739/

there basically saying that the seal has gone on the oil pan but the only thing im a bit confused on is how the oil pan is connected to the motor mounts ? or if they are connected at the ends .

so you could re seal it but it would almost be better to just go with a new oil pan and have that sealed on properly .

thanks
scott

The motor mounts attach to the bottom of the engine, the bolts for them go through the oil pan.
