Oil leak?

hey guys

first off, some peoplesay that all rotary oil pans leak oil

I beg to differ, having owned 3 rx8s (2 AT and 1 MT) non of them leaked oil at all

now to my FD, I havent been driving her for 3 days now and I came home today and looked under to see 2 puddles of oil. both of which seem to be coming from the motor pounts of the car. seeing as the position of the under-brace bar is right under the oil pan, I came t oa conclusion that the 2 oil puddles are both from the oil pan

is this normal with the FD? or should I re-seal the oil pan? get a re-inforcement brace ? something?

it is somewhat normal for the oild pan to leak. but by normal I mean it happens often it should be fixed when it happens though. I would start with a new oil pan gasket and see if that solves the problem.

Step 1 - Carb cleaner or Brake parts cleaner
Step 2 - Jack it up, Spray cleaner on the bottom to get rid of left-over crud
Step 3 - Start car, grab some eye protection and see if you can tell where the oil is coming from.

Research and Development "its a helluva drug..."

I have owned my car since new. It has never leaked oil, either from the pan or anywhere else.

Just a heads up for the 3rd gen forum. This guy is a refuge from RX-8 club. The amount of stupid stuff he has done and dumb questions he has asked force me to alert you to the horrible incompetent person he is.

Not to mention that he claimed that he had to sell his last car because his parents cut him off from money, and that he couldn't afford to buy gas and eat. He also claimed to own a Civic in addition to his 8, and now apparently he owns an FD too!
AMAZING!

You did REMOVE the pan right? You didn't just cake it onto the sides...did you? That's just not smart.

You have to understand that HE is not smart. This is the same guy who bought a $7k turbo kit for his car, then told everyone that he couldn't afford a wideband to get it tuned, and that after he bought the kit that he had to sell his car because he couldn't afford food. Then he shows up with an FD...which is not a car for retarded people like him to own.

BTW taj1, don't be sad about your lies, they just have a tendency to follow you around.

lots of people run 10/30 synthetic. Though in very hot climates its often recommended to go a little heavier. I doubt there is anything wrong with the 10/30. I'm running mobile one 15/50 currently

One has to wonder, seriously....if even half the people who SAY they have FDs really own them.
Over the years, there have been a lot of people that are simply posers, usually what trips them up is they can't keep track of the b.s. they are spreading.

"Its got a cool air intake. It's got a NOS fogger system and a T4 turbo.
A AIC controller. It has direct port nitrous injection. Yeah. And a stand-alone fuel management system. Not a bad way to spend 10,000 dollars huh? Oh but I think my head gasket is going bad, something about danger to manifold?"

Stoptech BigBrake kit
Tokico Shocks
Swift springs
Agency Power swap bar

Full Mazsport type 1 Kit

and some other stuff like midpipe and exhaust, etc etc

now, alot of you know me on the forums, my car is running well at the moment, and I have fixed most of the issues that came up before so that it can run well

my reason for selling is actually retarded one: my parents cut me off.........so I can no longer afford to own a Mazda Rx-8, let alone a modified one, I need money for rent, I need money to eat, I need money to pay my phone bills etc etc

I cannot drive this car anymore

I will have to drive a crappy 1988 civic

this car will be paying for my tuition and my rent for at least a year, until I can save up some money to come back to my Rx-8 once more T.T

so please, no low ballers, I really need the money, I will tell you right now that I love my car more than anyone on Rx-8club, life sucks, and now it's got me.........

18,000$ firm
Look familiar?
