Oil Filter Rlocation Project ** PICS INSIDE**

Guys,

Just to show some pics of my Oil Filter relocation project for my Street / Track car.

I couldn´t find many when I did some search, so hope it helps.

Setup also includes the Re Speed Pedestal / Upgraded Oil Coolers & a custom made bracket...

This maybe a dumb question but WHY would you need to do that ????

Our filter is easily accessable, I don't really see the need for this...Plus now you have a possible fire hazard....If one of those lines or fittigs start leaking, that oil will dump right onto the HOT exhaust and POOF.....there goes your FD...

Its not a huge deal...and I've actually thought about doing a relocation as well. But the last place I would relocate it to... is the turbo side of the engine bay.

Reason behind this is this a JDM car converted to LHD....

It means the Brake Booster, Steering Rack, Engine harness, etc... Everything goes to the Left side of the car in a Non OEM location.

It means the oil filter was right in the middle of the new Engine Harness routing.

I just thought about moving something to the right side of the car, may be I should sleeve the hoses as well...

Thanks..!!

Oil leak + exhaust = FIRE!

Why not move it over by the other fender?

I didn't know the stock location was that difficult to reach.

Thanks for the clarification.... I actually know what LHD is... ALL our cars in the USA are LHD from the factory....

Good Luck with your project...

Seems like added risk for no real gain.

jajajaja...

What I meant is that there is a MESS on the Left side of the engine... That´s why I was looking for a better Accesories distribuition...

But it seems it was not a popular decision...

Some things I see look very nice with attention to detail while others make me wonder....like those plugs on the filler neck for the AST delete. With all those expensive lines and you use a cheezy looking plug that will likely fail with time. Why not drill and tap it?

I have to agree with everyone who said that moving things CLOSER to the exhaust is generally a bad thing.

Pretty pointless reason though.

Our oil filters are easily accessible. If anything he should have relocated the coils not the oil filter.

Now he just added something else that could go wrong with these already finnicky cars.

So, do you have good access to be able to prevent oil from dripping in that location? I guess I've never seen the point to relocate unless you're adding another filter.

As I said before this is a RHD converted to LHD car.

So the ECU & Engine Harness is routed to Driver side below the Steering Column.

In this setup Oil Filter sits right in the way of the engine harness, so I just thought about giving some more room to the Harness by moving the filter.

Beside it, this is a track dedicated car build and looks Cool...
