Oil catch can problem

I ran the 30min diagnostic run on my FD and oil catch can was full after that :s
So how should i run the lines on it? Currently i have it:
From intakemanifold->CatchCan->Oil filler neck
Do i need to run it to atmosphere and leave UIM out?
sum paint scetch would be nice so to clear this out

If you're single turbo most people run from oil filler neck --> catch can --> rear turbo oil drain inlet(it was used when the stock turbocharger system was in place).

Not sure how you do it if you have the stock twin turbocharger.

The best way in my opinion is to run a line from the oil filler neck to the catch can, and run a hose out of the catch can to the turbo. You need to tap either the air filter or the compressor housing where the filter mounts. Or you can purchase an adapter from ATP turbo that mounts on the turbo inlet and already has nipples. Remove the stock pcv and cap it. I only use the rear turbo oil drain as a vent if the car still has excessive blow by with the first method.

I run single and have just got all together so i think ill run the lines: fillerneck->catchcan->vent to atmosphere, ill just need to empty the can from time to time. And when i next rip all apart ill make drain to catch can.

That won't work, you will fill it, over flow it and oil will get everywhere. I just went through this same problem.

You need a baffled catch can that is vented, cap the uim and both ports on the filler neck. Tap your oil cap and install a 90 elbow type fitting. Run the line from the oil cap fitting to the catch can and the catch can to the rear unused oil return on the block.

This is what i use with my single turbo set up. do search and find the write up that Damian posted for his set up. This is what i used to do mine and i have no catch can issues now.

The baffled can and the proper venting is the key, the catch can is only supposed to catch blow by not fill up with oil.

It really depends on how the car is driven too. Tracked cars have more trouble with oil filling the catch can on long sweeping corners. Street cars don't really need anything elaborate. Also the bigger the line the better. The problem is the oil works it's way up the oil filler and the air can't get past without pushing the oil out too. You can't run the can to the UIM without a PCV valve.

If you have trouble with a lot of oil, then venting the rear oil drain port along with the filler valve works really well. i just use a large hose mounted to a 90 on the filler cap that goes to the catch can, catch can is vented to atmosphere. Very little oil ever gets in the can.

Ok, thanks for replies.

The 30 min dagnostic run is when you hook PFC in you have to give it time to adjust idle. You start the engine and let it run 10min without any load, then 10 min with some load(lights, some cooling) and last 10 min with heavy load(ac, rearwindow heater) and it adjusts spark and injection

You should not be filling your catch can at idle. Did you overfill your oil pan?
