OEM 6 disc CD changer?

Has anyone had any experience with the OEM 6 disc CD changer ? Does it skip like the single CD unit? I want to get one but not if it skips like the single. Thanks, RP

I don't believe that there was ever an OEM 6 cd changer for the USA FDs.

The Spirit R has a disc changer. If you can find one someone took out.

There was a 6 disc changer. The brosure for the 95 shows that it was an accessory. I called Mazda and they have 13 left. But, it doesn't look like anyone has ever seen one. I am getting new speakers, 2 6" in the front, 2 5x7 in back and 1 8" sub in the trunk. I will have it set up to keep the OEM look(very stealth). I was going to set up an Ipod under the front seat; but I would really like the OEM 6 disc because of the skipping of the single disc. The brosure says the CD player is made to skip. What CD player was ever made to skip? Sounds like bull$##^ to me. Anyway the 6 disc controls will take the place of the single. Has anyone ever heard of any multi disc CD changer that skips?

Usually when they mean they have either a bufferring technology that so when it skips the music is uniterrupted; and/or a better transport mechanism that better isolates the player.

OK That makes sense, but has anyone had experience with the OEM 6 disc CD changer?
