New FD owner !

So don't hate me, but I bought an auto FD that was on ebay for 11,000.01. I outbid the guy by 1 penny. I know it needs some more mods and I have the spare change to do so. The stock wheels come with it and I'm going to put them back on.

That is the picture the guy had for the auction. I am going to pick it up next week. He has ALL receipts for work done. He is going to take me to Performance Buyer's Club in Chantilly, VA for a final look over by the people there. Some of you may have heard of them, he said he got the reference through this website.

I know you may not like people changing the color, but I received far more detailed pictures of the paint, and it is a deep deep gloss. I may be one of the few more concerned with her curves than her horsepower, but I have other plans for that auto transmission

let me know what you think!

Looks pretty nice. I would def ditch those wheels the second i got the car. Does the car have a clean tittle? Should be a fun project if your gonna convert it over to a manual.

here is some advise i wish someone would have given me when i bought my fd.
1)never ever take it to the mazda dealer for anything.
2)every project leads to two more, you always hind more you what to do.$$$$$
3)last and most important, take your fd to banzai racing for anything you need that you cant do your self.

you should try to make it to banzai racing this weekend, they are having there fall BBQ saturday. there shop is in pierceton indiana, check out there site www.banzairacing.net .
good luck

Thumbs up

It is probably a good idea to take it to Performance Buyer's club in Chantilly. I went there once to have a car inspected prior to my possible purchase of the car. They seemed to be pretty professional. I think there specialty is the miata, but they were known to do some work on RX-7s as well.

Welcome to the club and good luck with your car...

Thanks, again it comes with the factory wheels, so they may appease the sensually offended. Thanks for the positive comments. I am actually going out to pick it up next week, so unfortunately I shouldn't be attending the event in a beater 96 honda accord. That would just be pitiful.

prok man, if i got problems I got problems. I took your advice, I didn't spend more than the car is worth. I won't be posting if I have problems. That is what the search feature is for.

700 at the motor

Atleast I posted a dyno sheet and video of the dyno run. Look how many people list theirs as 500 HP when they have no where near that and haven't even had their cars tuned

Reserve is set at $35,000. I've never sold a car on ebay so I wasn't sure how to list the price/reserve etc.

I too saw this FD on ebay. I think the color is pretty unique, it looks like it would be really nice in person. Welcome

Oh. Lupe like I said on streetfire you should keep it if you have that much invested. Why did you build your dream FD up to sell it? I know you're not doing any illegal racing but you could always track it.

You shoulda set your reserve at 35k because if someone wants it they're gonna have to pay 35k+ regardless.

welcome to the club. don't believe all the bad things you hear about the auto's. mine is set up nice and is very fast for a street car. if you don't race and just want a nice car to drive and have fun with the auto is just fine. let me know if you need advice on the auto and mods.
