Odyssey Battery question.

Im not a big fan of moving the battery in the car so i was thinking to go small, so people who have the small odyssey battery, does it start up without a problem? ever just die out? I do have an amp and an aftermarket radio, no subs tho, not sure if i would have to make the sacrifice and move it inside.

Im running an odyssey. The first one I had was killed by leaving my run lights on one time at work, the battery was never the same again. I got a new odyssey and it works great. The odyssey works great in my FD, it dose cost like $250 though.

Quite a few other threads out there if you search... very few people will type "PC680" when referring to something other than an Odyssey PC680 battery.

I'm running the PC680 currently. Good battery. I killed it once due to a sticky Ignition Switch (car randomly powered on (motor not running) one day when I was at work... was dead as **** when I got off..) but otherwise it's been a champ.

As for mounting it... check on www.summitracing.com they sell a mounting kit I believe. Or you could fab something up. I'll take pictures of how mine is mounted tomorrow.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get my *** down to the garage with my camera..

Basically the mounting bracket I'm using is a one off piece. It's essentially a steel "T" with a raised end. It utilizes the stock hooks to keep the battery clamped down to the floor of the bracket and attaches to the stock location in the engine bay.

(yes, my engine bay is kinda dirty... I know lol)

I have been using a 925 for over 8 years. It comes with a 3 year uncondtional warranty

The 680 only has a 2 year warranty.

I have managed to kill three of them.

The 1st died after 2 1/2 years when I ran the rad fans troughout the day after engine shutdown during a lapping day. Replaced for free

2nd one died after 2 3/4 years of use when I connected a wideband heated O2 sensor to a unswitched source during another lapping day. Replaced for free

The 3rd & latest one died after 2 1/2 years of use due to mutiple engine starts during a hot weather lapping day. Also replaced for free.

If I had been using a 680 I would have paid for 3 batteries out of pocket.

I did purchace the Odyssey charger/battery tender to keep it topped off during the inactive winter months.

Over 8 years of use for the price of just one 925 battery. They reset the warranty every time they give you a new battery.

You don't even need a receipt. There is a date code on the battery & if it's less than 3 years old you get a new battery, no questions asked.

That's pretty badass!! How much larger (inches) wider/taller is the 925 than the 680, do you know off hand? If/when my 680 goes I might look into replacing it with a 925 in that case...

The Braille is only about $160 and seems to outperform the Odyssey by the numbers.

i have one with the rotary extreme box, it will die if your car sits for days at a time, but its awesome as long as you disconnect it when it sits.

925 works well for me. I just let it sit for a couple weeks at below freezing temps and it started pretty strong. I also killed 3 of the 680 batteries from running fans after shutdown.

I use the PC925. The extra cranking power is nice with the LS1.
