Angry Odometer turns off when i turn on headlights..?

Hello!
I need some help with this annoying thing in my car.
The **** to turn on and turn off lights, When it's "off" the odometer is visible, but when i switch the **** to on, the odometer turns it self off. What's the cause to this problem? And what should i look for?
Here's a link to a video i recorded today.

Is the dimmer all the way down? I don't think the bulb has two filaments so likely not the bulb.

The dimmer was not working before so i took it out, and looks burned up. I did'nt think it might be that the lights are maybe "dimmed" down to the lowest...? Is there a way to check it without the dimmer?

I’d think the dimmer switch being out of the loop is causing all your issues. I don’t have a schematic available but your back lighting is also probably not working either. FD01-55-490A is the part number. RHD starts with F100 but I’m not sure if that one fits LHD, likely not.

It’s just the backlighting turning off. The LED display should still work but without backlighting it would be difficult to see.

dimmer switch or check the ground behind the bumper for the headlights. it can also cause a lot of headaches.

Correct, It's still counting km's even when it's not lighting up. Just an anoying thing to see. I'm also trying to fix all the lightning issue i have. Pretty much every light in the cluster and instrument panel is completely off. Are they controlled by the dimmer too? I've only hade the car for 3 weeks and came this way.

Hi again!
Doesn't seem to solves this issue. This is frustrating.

I've read in an older post about jumping the dimmer. The dimmer has 3 cables. Black (ground) Red/Green (lead?) Red/Blue (trace?). And to jump is to connect both red cables and leave the black alone. Correct this if i'm wrong.
I've checked the wires for voltage, and i get 12v from each of the red cables with the ground.
I've checked continuity on the cables and there is continuity in all. So something must is shorting it, right?

I did a move jumping both red cables together and leave the ground alone, turned the **** for light, and even started the ignition too, nothing.
Also i said "f it", and put together one of the red cables against the black cable. I heard a click or two, and the cables started to get really warm - took them apart and started to inspect the fusebox at the floor. both tail light fuses where burned up. The Odometer stopped working. Replaced the fuses and the odometer lights up as it was before in this post.

I'm guessing there must be a short somewhere. But where!?
Can it be the cluster itself? Hense nothing has been lighten up, except the odometer display... also turn signals (forgot to mentioned that).

Check all the grounds, everywhere. Dash issues often stem from some ground or other not grounded.

Do you sit on any info where all the grounds are?

Use the search tool on here. There are various leads for manuals.

You are looking for "Mazda RX-7 1994 Wiring Diagram" and/or " Electrical Troubleshooting manual."

The USDM FSM also ahs some wiring diagrams.
