Question Odometer stopped working!

Hey anyone out there know of any options to fix a 93 rx7 odometer without having to pay like 600 for a new one... Its lit up orange but its not displaying the numbers.

Hey does anyone know how to fix the dreaded odometer when it stops displaying the digits but it still lights up orange.. Im not sure where to find the thread...

Supposedly replacing some of the capacitors on the boards can fix some problems... Mine doesn't work either but I don't have time to try and fix. Bought a nice new one from allrotor93... If you figure out how to fix maybe I can fix my original ?

My odometer has never worked since i've owned mine. There is a thread somewhere on this forum that explains how to fix this problem by disassembling the instrument cluster and replacing the capacitors. I don't have enough ***** to try this on my own however i'd ship the cluster to a specialist who can repair it for a couple hundred bucks, maby less

There is a company you can send the cluster to and have it repaired. I cant remember the name at the moment but I will try to look it up.

I just sent my cluster off to a company in VA. The companys name is southern electionics. their website is www.caraudio.com
the tech called me today and said she was ready to go only cost 75 dollars. still crossing my fingers that this is the whole problem. i will post again when i have the cluster back.

Do you have a phone number for the company? Do you know if they can repair everything on the cluster like the speedo bouncing?

The thread with the capacitor fixing is this one: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/just-got-done-figuring-out-how-fix-fd-odometer-599220/

I wonder if mine doesn't need a bulb as well. I thought it was out, but if I look closely at it I can see the numbers they're just very dim.

Did the caraudio.com people tell you what they did, replacing capacitors or just a bulb? Either way, glad to hear it's working for you now.

Did it display the correct mileage? And was it a real pill to remove it?
Thanks,
Harrison

I've managed to fix my own every time. I've had a handful of them go bad and they're always repairable.

hit me up, maybe I can help you.

not your problem but mine stopped working and was due to the speedo converter, would sometimes work but then randomly stop. replaced with one from ebay works perfect now

Subscribed. Going to try to fix it myself but if that doesn't work, I'll take your route and ship it off.
