octane boost in your gas...all the time?

I was wondering if putting octane boost in your gas all the time could cause problems? I only fill my tank up once a month or so, so I would have no problem forking over the couple of extra bucks for octane boost if it wasn't going to hurt anything. I am talking about the stuff they sell at wallmart that says it bumps the octane level up by 10. Anyone have any idea?

I use a gallon of toluene for every 12 gallons of 91 octane in my car, off and on.

The stuff they sell at Wal-Mart does NOT bump your octane up by 10. There's articles on the net regarding this.

yeah I thought 10 sounded like a bit much but even if it did bump the octane a 4 or 5 it would be worth it to me. anyone know of any problems that this stuff can cause

The label is misleading if you read all the print on the back of the bottle it says something like " 1 point equals .1 octane", so ten points is 1 octane point.

If you only run a tank a month put some 104 unleaded in there.

Its actually 1 point equals .01 octane so adding it to 91 octane would raise the octane level to 91.1 from 91(10 basis points).
