What do u want a pic of, the tank in the rear of the car for washer fluid? do the US cars not have this? There is very little u can see of it from just opening the hatch. the tank is covered by interior panels leaving only the cap exposed.

You can see it with the rear plastic panel removed. I wanted to buy one of these for a water injection install but they are next to impossible to find used. They hold about a gallon of water and have three pumps attached.

So only the Canadian fds have this tank?
where is the washer fluid stored on us and jdm models?

if this is true, these tanks will definitely be hard to source used, there was not alot of fds produced for Canada.

This tank holds washer fluid for the front two headlight nozzles and the rear hatch nozzle (hence the three pumps). Canadian and European cars have front headlight nozzles. There is a much smaller tank for cars with only a rear hatch nozzle. Here is a picture of the smaller tank:

SO this is the larger tank out of a Canadian model then?
This tank should also spray the front windshield aswell as the rear window and headlights. one pump for the headlights, 2nd pump for the windshield, and a 3rd pump for the rear window? There is only one resevoir for windshield washer fluid so this tank must outfit all three.

No - this is the smaller tank. These are pretty easy to find used.

The larger tank is shown on the bottom left of this picture.

I've never seen an actual picture of the tank. It is big - it stores a gallon - and bolts right up to existing tabs.

I had a WTB for months and got diddly. You can apparently get them new for $600 or so, which is a little rich for my blood.

I opened a thread asking about this item in the FDNewbieimports section thinking it was a JDM component.

I wanted a direct bolt in tank I could use for water methanol.

I would be all over one of these if a GB was opened.

ill see what i can do :P
we'll have to get the price down obviously as they are very pricey for a water bottle but it would be pretty sweet with the switch and everything. I havent thoroughly thought out how the system would work though... would you use the tank up front for water/meth injection and use the back tank for washer fluid? or the other way around? Also you would need an easy way to know how much is left in that bottle. If running methanol... I like the idea of getting it out of the engine compartment area as its flamable. Only thing is I'd loose my rear wiper sprayer (not that i use it very often anyway lol)

I'd like to hear how people would set it up... i have a few ideas myself -heath

The only reason to buy this IMHO is if it acts as an AI reservoir. If you are going to use the front reservoir for AI you can buy the smaller reservoir for $20 or so for washer fluid.

Also you would need an easy way to know how much is left in that bottle.
Most AI companies sell level sensors, e.g., http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/a...l-p-22655.html

so would anyone be seriously interested in getting these? I can ask around... otherwise im just looking for one for myself. Personally id want the switch also, so i could use it as an IC sprayer possibly.... any thoughts on a dual purpose - IC sprayer/radiator sprayer AND water/meth injection?

The switch is no longer available in the US. (I tried to find one through Ray.)

Someone recently posted the part number of the tank and indicated that it was available for $600 or so but I can't find the post and cannot find the tank in the parts manual.

but ray shouldnt even have access to the Canadian parts (even if he has the part number) right? Id assume it would be the same problem that he has with j-spec parts... the part number is a valid part number but they just dont "exist" in his computer (which is kinda ridiculous). I remember ray tried for years to get something worked out with mazda japan, so he could sell j-spec parts. They blocked him every step of the way, and Ray eventually gave up.

Anyway, Ramy says he has some contacts, so we'll see if that goes anywhere. I was also talking to ramy about possibly doing a GB on some "secretive" e-spec parts of which (to my knowledge) I have the only working setup in the US. The little known, headlight levelers and switch. So, I'll have another chat with him about the rear tank setup as well. -Heath

(BTW where in the bay are you? I'm in Oakland )

Pretty sure I posted the number for the tank and retail prices some months back in one of the regional forums.

Not entirely confirmed, because this car was basically an assembly from multiple boxes of spare parts, but given the origins as an auto Touring(?) version I, with all the bells and whistles and there was a headlight washer switch in a spare painted centre console....might pay to have a look in that direction. I know the tank price here is absolutely extortionate, even at trade.

He had the part in his catalogue and thought that he could get it. He called me a week later and said that he could not. I might try to get a friend in England to find one for me.

I am down in the south bay.
