Heres my take on N2o spray on the intercooler. I have yet to do it on a FD but I have done it on A couple of hondas that have been turbo'ed of course. It showed gains of 20 to 52hp at the wheel in dyno testing. The 52hp was on a set up that was way over taxing the IC that was being used. So if does work and for the money it works well. The downsides are tha it's N2o so you have to fill it up at 2 bucks a pound, You HAVE TO keep it from getting into the intake or you will lean out. If you have a closed intake or another way to prevent the N2o getting to the intake, it's a cool mod for cheap power.

Let me ammend my last post before someone asks. Since the only purpose of the nitous shot is to cool the intercooler down, CO2 will work just as well. There is no point in wasting money on nitrous that will never make it's way into the motor, use the cheapest (inert) compressed gas you can find.

Damn, it is $3.50 to $5.00 a pound here in Arkansas. I doubt that whatever leftovers your intake may pick up will not cause the car to lean out unless you are already on the ragged edge. just my .02

for nos in hawaii, its about 4.5-5 bucks for a pound of nitrous.

could you buy the nx kit and just hook up a bottle of CO2 to it or do you have to use a pressure regualtor, does anyone know what is the pressure difference between nos and co2 is?

fellas, as a fellow environmentalist I urge you not to use CO2. I know I own and Fd too, but i have a high flow cat(doing my part). Our cars are dirty enough, lets not spoil it by using CO2. You could ofcourse plant a tree in your hatch to offset the co2 emission.

i believe there is a water spraying system that is safe for the environment and water can absorb a lot more of the heat then any of the gasses, plus it's a lot cheaper too. do a search in the archives, i think i've seen it on here before.

Naturallly, you would refrain from using it on both Arbor Day and Earth Day.

why not just spray out an alcohol/water mix or get water injection??

you can do an intercooler spray or use one of the aquamist systems for direct water injection which will help keep your temps down and power up and prevent predetonation.

obviously the IC spray is much cheaper and you can manufacture it just using a wiper fluid motor and some stuff from Home Depot.....but the water/alcohol injection would be more effective.

i was thinking of buying the nitrous spray kit because i can get it for 300 shipped, which is about 150 below retail i think. and i need something thats easy to remove, because i still have warranty on the car. BTW guys, do RX-7 missfire like cylender engines? i can hear mine miss but i don' know if thats just from the spark plugs or would my 10mm racing wires do that?
