NPR Intercoolers
I've been seeing an awful lot of these Izuzu NPR intercoolers running around the forum going between $150-$500 and was wondering about their reliability. Obviously they're an improvement over stock, but are you just better off picking up a Blitz/APEXi/M2/Pettit/PFS?

Reliability??? Not sure what you mean by reliability. All fmic are sitting in a volitile position due to the proximity to the road surface. Debris and rocks traveling in excess of 60-70 mph can put a dent or a hole in the ic regardless of the brand.
I think you are referring to the performance of the ics. I have the NPR ic and all I can state are the facts. I'll let you be the judge.
1. Boost pressure drop is neglegeale.
2. Output temperature is within 5 degrees from ambient. It is obviouse the output temp cannot be equal to or less than the ambient, if someone tries to tell you other wise, they are feeding you bull.
3. No pre-constructed piping exists for this ic, so you'll have to be creative. I bought a couple of mandrel bend aluminum piping of variouse bends and made some minor modifications to propoerly route the piping.

I had no idea that's an NPR front mount you've got. Guys, I've seen it in person and it's frickin' *big*! Seems like a cost-effective route to go if you're willing to fit the piping and do a little fabrication to install it.

Look on the parts trader, they are usually around 350-450. you will have to fab your own piping. I purchased several pre-bent aluminum pipes (45, 90 deg bends) and played around with them until it fits. The piping and thermalflex couplers costs about 100 bucks.

I have the smaller version NPR FMIC. I did have to customize the end tanks to make it stick up instead of towards the engine. To make it fit my TII i had to cut some supports for the piping. Its not installed yet but i think it will be great.

so do I have to modify intercooler it self?
I thought It gona be on pretty easy with out welding thing.
I can drill and cut metal but aluminum welding is pretty
expansive.
If I have to modify endtank than I don't see any big price advantage over bolt on aftermarket intercooler.
and what is smaller version I thought I is only one type.
which one is gona be easy fit on our cars?
