not starting! please give me ideas!
I have a '92 3rd generation fd3s and have just rebuilt it! i have put the engine back in now and put most of the pipes and wires back on. it just wont start. it sounds like timing. there is a spark and there is fuel so what could i be doing wrong? there are two plugs on timing sensors, one is white the other.... not too sure but different colour, s i changed them round but still nothing. has anyone got any ideas?

its just a normal ecu. checked all the fuses. is there any timing on engine? could it be sparking at the wrong time? and what about the 2 plugs i mentioned? does it matter what way they go?

A few ideas come to mind. You said you have "most of the pipes and wires back on" Which wires haven't you attached? There are lots of sensors feeding the ECU information
After you crank the engine for starting (and I'm guessing that you've done this for minutes) do you smell gas? If you don't smell gas I don't think it's your timing or your spark, it's your injectors not pulsing. You already have people responding about the sensors on the cranks nose. Those will be feeling the ECU timing for when to fire the injectors. Make sure they are working. You can also put a volt meter on them while you're cranking to make sure they are getting signal
Good luck

also, i cant see anything writen on the crank sensor plugs, ( 'ne' or 'g') one is white and one is gray, as i look at the engine from the front, the left one is white and the right one is gray. the right hand one is slightly higher than the left one, does this make it the top one and the left plug the bottom one?
