Not long now! FD3S

Hey all. not too long now until my rx7 comes. hopefully be UK based on the 19th then i'll have it a few weeks later.

Just wondering if a few people can shoot some advice and help for now and future mods.

I'm hoping for 350-400WHP from the twin turbo set up.

I'll be doing all supporting mods first. for example: Exhaust, sports cat, downpipes (what size here?)
Intake wise ill be doing pod/hks filters, intake piping and stock mount intercooler. uprated oil cooler.
larger radiator, fuel pump and injectors. once that's all sorted send off for mapping.

is that okay to do or would you rebuild the engine before even doing anything? it's on 80k miles and should be strong.

also, what oil are people using (i know this has been asked before) but i'm wondering what oil you use with or without 2stroke additive? Anything anyone else recommends also? i'd like to hear your ideas. when i do redo the engine, it will be to a large street port too, not a bridge as apparently life expectancy is better as well as usability as it isnt a full out track car.

Congratulations in advance of the car.
Every one of your questions have been covered pretty extensively in multiple threads in this section and in the FAQ stickys. If you want a recommendation, read those sticky’s and search.

I have gone through but each seems to be different and i'm more looking for people saying they had a good/bad experience with 3 inch D-pipe for example. or this oil didnt go well with two stroke or two stroke wasnt needed and so on.
I've looked through a lot but been unable to find a whole as people seem to have only asked about intake or exhausts.

and thank you, i cannot wait to be back in a mazda. Actually glad i sold the GTR now!

Really?
Not sure there’s even a choice OTHER than a 3” downpipe. And there is rarely a clear consensus on particular brands of anything. But, you can search, read and decide for yourself.

And this is from a simple search search in TITLES ONLY using the terms “ two stroke” and “ two cycle”...

I would recommend joining up at FDUK as well, it's a UK based forum for FD owners. I'm not sure how active it is now, but when I was stationed in Cambridgeshire a decade ago it was pretty helpful.

FDrx7.com is an Aussie forum. Not trying to shy the OP away, but at least for the more technical aspects, it would be RHD specific.
