Non sequential types.
looking for some clarification on the types of non sequential set up's. here is how I see them
poor man's:
I've researched very little into this set up as I have no intention of running it.generally people who do this seem to just want to make their car louder at low RPM's or are looking for simplicity but don't want to get into to much self modification.
It involves modifying the flapper valves so they are always open whether through mechanical means or through their control devices, nothing is usually removed except for the now unnecessary vacuum lines.
The only benefit to this set up over the other non sequential set up's is that it is reversible.
I've kind of split "Rich man's" and "full" into their own separate category so I can tell the difference in my head.
full non sequential:
involves porting the stock waste gate. cutting out, removing and plugging the flapper in the manifold and the flapper for pre control. the butterfly valve in the Y pipe is also removed.
this set up is fairly permanent unless you source new replacement parts.
Benifits: Some have said this set up gives better flow over sequential in high RPM's because of the removed restriction from removing the flappers. definitely better flow then poor man's.
downsides: it appears as if there is very little contact surface left on the waste gate door and I could imagine that this set up could result in leaking and losing some exhaust pressure and power/spool. it seems as if you can still get boost creep as the stock waste gate cannot be made to flow quite enough in some cases even with porting.

now I found an old post where a member was doing mod's for other members for a cost.
he was filling all the now unnecessary ports with weld and doing some porting for better flow. He also installed a larger waste gate door so it could be ported larger.

benefits: this set up removes any worries of over boosting or boost creep in my mind as most people seem to get by with a ported stock one so an upgraded one, there shouldn't be much question. There is likely better flow over a "full" set up from all the port filling and proper porting.
negatives: money, if the guys is still even doing it. new waste gate door, I have no idea where you would get this from. welding, lots of people might have cutting tools required for "full" but less likely have welders, I happen to but even then I've been told welding cast isn't as easy and that it may require some different wire and preheating methods.
The member who did this "Garco Motorworks" doesn't seem to be active any more.
I personally was thinking about doing what I call a full set up but I like the idea of a larger waste gate door. any idea where this guy was sourcing them? or was he making his own? does he still do this. any other comments on my thoughts or want to correct me? any other "types" that I missed, I haven't looked into control system and vacuum line running yet, I'm more concerned with the physical modifications at this point.
I'd rather this not turn into a sequential vs. non-sequential battle so keep your thought on non-sequential being bad to yourself.
