no reverse.

since i'm the smartest noobie on these forums I did search for other posts of '''no reverse''.

After reading I saw that a couple guys said to let the car roll down a hill backwards and then put it into reverse. I did this and it worked. have reverse again, but what will I have to do to prevent this from happening again!?!?

I don't have 5th gear syncro fixed.
When I first lost reverse I lost 5th as well.
5th came back right away after driving for about 3 miles.

5th and reverse are all by themselves in a separate part of the tranny. If 5th synchro is broken, the pieces could have gotten loose and jam reverse once in a while.

I suggest you get it fixed while the damage is minimal.
