Injector Grommets = Injector Insulators?
Insulators are commonly the phenolic pieces that fit down inside the block and diffuse the fuel. Grommets are the rubber flat-'O' rings that the injectors nest on, that fit on top of the block in a small recess.
Typically, anyway.

Okay....just to get terminology correct. On page F-105 of the Factory Service Manual, it shows "insulators" to be the rubber grommets/'O' rings that the injector carriers rest against. The fuel diffusers or "air bleed sockets" are the pieces that fit down inside the block on the primaries and inside the LIM on the secondaries.
Sorry for any confusion.

For the record, I think that the FSM and parts diagrams are misleading. After looking over them I had a conversation with Ray at Malloy and the injector insulators for the primary are different than the secondary (which the parts diagram reflects in part numbers, but they look the same in the illustration). The primaries get an insulator that goes around the lower part of the injector, and the secondary insulators seal between the tip of the injector and the lower intake manifold.
