Do You Really Expect To Get That High Of A Hp Numbers From Removing The P/s The Reason People Remove The A/c And P/s Is Because If You Remove The A/c Thats Where You Free Up Crank Weight. Im Tellin YOU I WouldN'T Take The P/s Off If Your Not Removing The A/c. The Only Thing Youll Notice Different Is That The Car Is Harder To Turn When You Are Moving Slowly!

I had the car(2 seater Ponti-Fiero) while back ago without p/s so its not really new to me removing the p/s, but the main reason want to remove p/s pump was broken bracket. can not adjust belt with adjust bolt (long bolt connect to small pulley) anymore. so instead getting a new bracket I decide to remove the p/s pump.

What are you talking about???

If you don't want the a/c to be sapping power from the motor you just reach up and switch it to "off"!

Have you ever driven an FD with a manual rack? I didn't think so.

Hell no! Those things are like 2800 pounds themselves.

...and don't forget that cars with manual steering have slower ratios so that you don't need as much torque on the steering wheel.

I'm now faced with this dilema... and i think i'll solve it by fabbing something to make the PS pully into a second idler pulley, so that i can still use the belt-tensioning idler... shouldn't be too tough.

Trev Dagley did it 7 years ago, so no, shouldn't be too tough.

I looked on Steve Cirian's site for the write-up on the P/S idler pulley to keep A/C, but couldn't find it. I know it's there somewhere, or at least it used to be. He needs a search feature.
