no oil consumption

I just got my motor done from rx7 store and since ive gotten it going I havent noticed any oil consumption. I check the level when I fill up and so far it just stays the same. could it be the OMP going bad or what? BTW iam running a rx7 store stage 2 motor, PFC, non sequential turbos, and all emmisions removed.

Bump.

Mine only burns 1/4QT after 2k miles. But I'm almost totaly stock. I thought stock its supposed to burn about a QT per 1k?

Make a note of how much oil comes out the next time you do an oil change. The dipstick is a really poor way of measuring how much oil is in the engine. BTW, if you wan't to be on the extra safe side pour a little synthetic 2C oil or MMO in your gas tank on every fillup until you find out for sure whether or not your car is consuming any oil

I've had 2 FD, the first was a miserly oil consumer (about 1/2 quart per oil change ~2k miles), my current consumes a bit more (about 1 quart) and I add 1/2 quart at 1k miles between oil changes.

Nope. Mine burns about a quart every 2-3K depending on use (note that I often race the car). Since I change oil around then I never end up adding oil as it's time to change it before it gets down to the Low mark.

Do you drain your gas tank too so you know how much gas you have?

The dipstick measures the oil level perfectly fine, it is afterall measuring how much oil is in the pan! The owners manual states that the distance between the Full and Low marks on the dipstick is 1.7 quarts. If your car is normal then you should see the oil level go from Full after an oil change to approximately halfway down the dipstick after a few thousand miles. If you run the car very hard often (boost constantly) you will consume oil at a greater rate due to the ecu instructing the OMP to inject more.

Same here. Mine burns a little less than a quart every 2-3K. I think a lot of people exaggerate the amount of oil that these cars burn (when running properly and without any leaks).

you dont think my MOP could be bad or is it a issue with the PFC not doing a good job of controlling it? also could my sending unit be a culprit?

the oil will have a gas smell. the motor is new right? omp amounts are also dependent upon driving heavy foot = more injection. new engines need to break in a bit also. your first oil change came how soon after the install.

my motor did not consume any oil when i broke it or for the first few thousand miles. i changed it every 500 miles till 2000 miles. then started changing every 2k miles. i didn't really observe any oild usage during those intervals.

since then i've beaten on it more and have noticed some oil consumption when the car is under boost more often.

i think you will notice more oil consumption as you start boosting which is when i understand the OMP provides higher amounts of oil vs. just cruising.
