no crank no start?

my car was fine cranked 2 time before start up..

then 3 days after needed 4 cranks before starting up.

now it wont crank at all.......

so i had my buddy tap the starter with a ratchet and it started right up..

started up 4 more times with out tappn the starter.....

im assuming my starter is going bad..

anyone know if i can rebuild my starter or should i just buy a new one?

i hope they are not expensive.

well if you have a standard you really dont need a starter but it would be best to go ahead and replace it.

Sounds like the starter solenoid is weak. You can replace the solenoid with one for an FC.

you should be able to have it rebuilt if you really want. Should be able to find an altenator/starter repair guy in your area if you look in the yellow pages.

I got a beautiful OEM almost new starter for $120 from Rotary Experiment Seven. Stealership = $250+

Contact Fritz Flynn he has plenty of used starters for sale for relatively cheap.
