Sounds like soenthing is backwards. I didn't think the 2nd turbo kiched in unless the primary was at 7psi or higher?

I had the exact thing happen to me recently. When I reassembled my engine I accidently inverted the two hoses that are on the TCS #2, which is attached to the ACV on the LIM. I had 0-1psi of boost till 4500 and then it reached the WGA set 7psi and held to redline. I did notice however that there was a metallic vibrating sound near the turbos during this time, which I could not locate. After many attempts and disassembly I found that it was the TCA flap in the exhaust manifold that was vibrating, because it was not receiving the proper signal from the TCS #2, and that's how I found the problem. Btw the blue conector is not used on the 5speed cars. Sorry about the abbreviations, but that's how I remember them. Here's what they mean:
ACV= Air Control valve
LIM= Lower Intke manifold
TCA= Turbo Control Actuator
WGA= Wastegate Actuator
TCS= Turbo Control solenoid

You have to remove the UIM to access the TCS#2. It's the only solenoid attached to the ACV(LIM) and is very visible cause it's much higher than the others. It has 2 hoses coming out of it which point towards the ground. Check those hoses for cracks or being inverted. You might also have a faulty solenoid which doesn't allow the pressure signal to go through, so you want to check that as well to see if it clicks and check the resistance as well. Good luck!

Stupid person here!
So I need one of you mechanically inclined folks to explain what he did above to determine that his turbo is bad. What did he have off to look at the turbo and how he was able to start the car with it apart.
Hey...I'm an art guy...trying to be a car guy.

Yes that helps a pretender like me. I have the boost gauge now, but I need to install it. I have some stupid questions that I will have to post though.
