Nitrous Question!

How much nitrous (dry, shot) can you shoot an rx-7 with before killing it? Any ideas?

You could kill it with a 15 shot if it's not tuned. Most people run a 50. The main purpose of it is to get out of the hole or give you some low end power when you have a big single turbo. I'm staying with twins so no, I wouldn't use it.

Very true. It is all in the tuning but the most people typically use is 50 shot, wet. Make sure you have upgraded fuel system to keep up with it and be careful to tune it properly.

Also, do a search (if and when the search becomes available again) and you will find a ton of helpful information

Well lets look at it like this....

Nitrous needs fuel, and the amt of fuel you need is directly related to the power your making. If you have the fuel to support the nitrous you have the fuel for more boost.....so just turn up the boost.

well i have heard, but do not know for sure, that like others said a 50 is about as high as u wanna go, or the nitrous can get the seals really cold and then when you ignite, the rapid change in temperature causes the seals to crack, maybe someone can back me up on this???

I wouldn't use nitrous, because I'm keeping the twins. Also too, I don't like the fact that it has to be a refillable power adder. Just my .07.

Spraying isnt that bad for a rotary engine! You just have to have the fuel for it, cause just like anything if you dont have the fuel you wont have your engine! I dont know why so many people are scared of spraying, you just have to compensate for the fuel. Just my opinion.

It is all in the tuning. Use 15-50 shot, wet (NOT DRY SINCE YOUR CAR HAS FORCED INDUCTION). Make sure you have upgraded fuel system to keep up with it and have it to tuned properly for efficent use. I personaly wouldn't use it because i think i m fast enough

I'm a little scared of it. Boost crazy and Dougie Fresh's comments both made sense to me. Until I know what's up, i'm not using it (even though i'm going single this summer).

I wouldn't play with the stuff unless you have some cash you don't need stashed away for potential repairs.

I'm not scared of it. I used it almost every day for 2 years (not on the 7), and like Momo said, I think I'm fast enough without it.
