Nitrous Question!

How much nitrous (dry, shot) can you shoot an rx-7 with before killing it? Any ideas?

You could kill it with a 15 shot if it's not tuned. Most people run a 50. The main purpose of it is to get out of the hole or give you some low end power when you have a big single turbo. I'm staying with twins so no, I wouldn't use it.

Very true. It is all in the tuning but the most people typically use is 50 shot, wet. Make sure you have upgraded fuel system to keep up with it and be careful to tune it properly.

Well lets look at it like this....

Nitrous needs fuel, and the amt of fuel you need is directly related to the power your making. If you have the fuel to support the nitrous you have the fuel for more boost.....so just turn up the boost.

i used a 20shot on my turbo II for 2 reasons...A.--it spools the turbo NOW....B. it drops intake temps like a rock....

well i have heard, but do not know for sure, that like others said a 50 is about as high as u wanna go, or the nitrous can get the seals really cold and then when you ignite, the rapid change in temperature causes the seals to crack, maybe someone can back me up on this???

I wouldn't use nitrous, because I'm keeping the twins. Also too, I don't like the fact that it has to be a refillable power adder. Just my .07.

Spraying isnt that bad for a rotary engine! You just have to have the fuel for it, cause just like anything if you dont have the fuel you wont have your engine! I dont know why so many people are scared of spraying, you just have to compensate for the fuel. Just my opinion.

It is all in the tuning. Use 15-50 shot, wet (NOT DRY SINCE YOUR CAR HAS FORCED INDUCTION). Make sure you have upgraded fuel system to keep up with it and have it to tuned properly for efficent use. I personaly wouldn't use it because i think i m fast enough

I'm not scared of it. I used it almost every day for 2 years (not on the 7), and like Momo said, I think I'm fast enough without it.

thats for sure, when i got my 7 i was like hey good car, now almost 11 thousand dollars later, im almost done fixing everthing that was broken.

Ok no ones making a point why not to use it!! I remember a great thread on RX7 and spraying i think it was on the 2nd gen forum! If i recall correctly it basically said if dont right it it toataly safe. Lets see if i can dig it up!
