There are people who are on the bottle here, or were at one time (Steve Kan comes to mind). In my experience with nitrous (piston motors only), it's really no different than any other power adder in the sense that you need to have your AFR and timing right. This is easier when you have a standalone with the capability to fully control nitrous--separate timing maps and built-in activation logic. Otherwise you have a bunch of separate electronics all over the car like a window switch, a wide open throttle switch, etc. Other key things to have for consistent nitrous use are a bottle heater and a pressure gauge. Turbos love cold weather, nitrous hates it because bottle pressure goes down unless a heater is used.
So nitrous is really nothing to be afraid of, although it's not "trendy" around here. PM scathcart , he is a resident expert on the matter.

Yes you can use nitrous, no I wouldnt. I know to many people with piston engines that have blown their engines with it and they dont have to worry about preignition or detonation as much as we do. Apex seals are fragile and will blow up. Now if you get your A/F ratio correct and I would def go wet system it is possible to use it I just wouldnt use a crazy amount. Vin Diesel would have blown the **** up in the first movie lol
