nos something for us
nitrous express has some thing for us it is a kit that you mount to your intercooler it sprays the nitrous onto the intercooler and does not go into the motor they claim on a honda on the dyno with a turbo it made 52extra hp think off ours prob be evan be better since our motor give more heat to the intercooler let me no what you guys think. go to ther web site check it out under new prod.www.nitrousexpress.com

I've heard of that being done before, a friend of a friend supposedly had a 10 second supra who was doing this, but I had no idea that the horsepower gains from using NOS to cool the intercooler air were so big.. (52hp).. I would like to see what a kit like that costs.

Well the Nitrous is still having the same effect diluted when injected into the intercooler. All it does anyway is cool the temperature down tremendously which causes the air molecules to condense allowing more air in the same volume of space which allows more gas to be entered. Injecting into the intercooler would just make the intercooler much much more efficient. Not a bad idea I guess.

Well since a IC is not very effective when on a dyno, using the nitrous just simulated what the IC would be like if you were actually at speed. Well okay perhaps not entirely but it would definately be a factor.

good point but in a 1/4 mile you are in the stage lane you stage and spray the crap out of it and go and maybe hit it 2nd gear if you want. that really is what it is intened for i dont no if you have ever had nos on any off your cars but it will burn your hands its so cold the idea hear is to frost over the intercooler so when you make a run you the air is cold as heck just my 2 cents worth

Suburu does the same thing but uses a methanol/water (windshield wiper fluid) solution sprayed across the IC on thier WRC cars and on the STi WRX. Some RX7 guys do it also, using an Auquamist kit. Not exactly the same, but a hell of a lot cheaper!

I don't know alot about the aquamist kit, but winshield washer fluid is no where near as cold as N/O.. I once had a NOS kit and sold it so I had to drain the bottle to ship it, I drained the bottle and it is very cold, I mean it made a icy cold condensation form on the valve that's how cold it was. Sort of like CO2 but maybe colder, I sort of think this is system is good idea and I would like to see what results some single turbo and stock twin guys would have with using this system..

It's true, a non compressed water/methanol sprayer is not going to be nearly as cold, however you could run it EVEY time you are in boost, on the street, road course etc. N20 spraying would usefull only on at a drag race.

True to say that you are going to be hitting the button every time you accelrate from a light is crazy and I don't think road racers would get much use out of it either. It's mostly going to be your pretty hardcore racers that will use it right before they launch etc.

Do you guys have any idea how much more money you will be spending on nos? I swear, setting up another sprayer near the fmic will just make the upkeep for it be all that much higher. But then again I have no idea how much it costs to refill a whole tank. As a matter of fact, I have no idea how many shots you can get on an average sized tank . Crap brb...gunna fill me brain with more info before I thread crap. "I'll be back..."

about 3 buks a pound prob get 15 sprays but that depends how long you hold down the button i whould think right around 7 sec nos holds 10lb so a refill whould about $34. they usally charge a hook up fee off about $3 or $4 and you can also get bigger bottls from nos exp.

Does anyone remember (this is for the old-time rx-7 owners like me I guess :) when Pettit Racing offered a boost sensor IC sprayer/cooler product? It would spray a cooling spray (not sure what it was) when positive boost was detected. I think it was a few hundred bucks (I may even have the catalog, maybe I will try to dig it up).
I remember being kinda curious about it but Pettit updated their catalog shortly afterwards and the product wasn't in the new one. The concept seemed interesting tho.

How about this?

Would be cheaper, and a lil more stealth, I've been thinking of doing something like this for some time.
