Nice 4 hour trip!
Well yesterday I headed up to Garland with my brother to visit a friend. The car was packed with paintballing equipment and clothes and surprisingly was a very comfortable drive. A nice scenic trip that was exactly what the FD needed. All went well. Nothing broke down, no leaks, nothing. Sad to say I didn't get a chance to visit Rotary Performance which was going to be the highlight of the trip. If you saw a R1 with a 99spec lip and Blitz exhaust on I45 or anywhere around Garland and Dallas it was me.
Just had to keep the rotary spirit up.

3 months would be Oct-Dec in 05. Developed a fuel leak, had a mechanic friend fix it since I was still in the apartment, and then couldn't pass emissions. Fast forward to last month, resolve emissions problems, drive a few days, and lo and behold, fuel smell comes back!!!
Ordered fuel hose recall kit from Ray at Malloy. This weekend I will be replacing fuel lines and pressure testing the system to ensure no more leaks exist. Good times with my most expensive lawn ornament...

pssh ive put 2000 miles in 2.5 years on my TII. then again i *may* have self induced some projects on it that require downtime...
actually the only thing that the car itself broke was the FD fuel pump i put in it...

My RX-7 did daily-driver duty for about two years (from 45k miles to 75k miles), without any problems. Long trips (Vegas, or a beach run) were nice, because you get better gas mileage cruising at highway speeds. Now that I've got another daily driver, the RX-7 gets cranky if I let it sit for too long. My lightweight battery drained itself after sitting for about a month, which was a bummer. Time to buy a trickle charger, or drive the car more often...

I drive my FD every month or so on a 2 hour trip up and another 2 hour trip back... in fact I went for a 4 hour drive yesterday with a friend to check out a silvia, and guess what!? NO PROBLEMS Haha.

I'm going to be moving to Nashville, TN in the last week of June. First year of college and starting it off right with a summer session! The FD is coming with me. Trying to find a house with a garage.
The trip is about 12 hours. My challenge, to make sure my car is ready for it. I'm sure it is though. Depending on how the engine runs this next month and a half determines whether or not I'm going to get it rebuilt before I go.
