next mod what should it be?

I am getting a act s/s clutch and lightened flywheel installed on my car this week and i am ordering the power fc w/ commander as well as exhaust, downpipe, and I am builiding my own intake. My next question is what should I do next. I am gonna go single turbo but this is my first rotary and so I am wondering what you guys think should be the next mod on my fd. Thanks for the advice.

Get a more efficient intercooler. For the amount of mods you have, an intercooler would be the next logical upgrade.

Also if your going to upgrade to a bigger turbo you should port your engine

you do know that you will not be able to use the downpipe with the single turbo right?

Also, most single turbos make you get rid of the airpump so you will not be able to use a catalytic converter. Go with a midpipe and make sure you get a good intercooler that will work with a single turbo.

You know what you want to get, work your mod list around that so you don't have to buy and sell parts a lot.

That is a very expensive step that most wait till they blow the engine for. I agree that it is important and should not be overlooked but you should not spend the money at this point unless your engine is about to go (ie. high mileage, bad compression, etc.)

Don't forget about upgrading your fuel pump! With increased air flow and higher boost you will need more fuel.

Oh, and I'd say an upgraded radiator, never can run too cool.

The cooldown activity that you describe is the exact same as a turbo timer, which is pointless. I'm inferring that Mahjik is talking about the fact that you should just run your car easy the last couple miles of your drive. Letting it sit still and cool down only promotes heat soak and increases engine bay temp. Whereas, not getting in to boost, and having large amounts of cool air running through the bay is much more effective.

You don't need to idle the car that long. Just stay off boost a little before you get home, idle the car for about 30 secs or so then shut it down.

There is a post back in the archives where an engineer was stating the reasons why turbo timers are pretty much useless.

I dont' think turbo timers are pointless since sometimes you don't have the time to or the situation won't permit your own time to cool down,

BUT I don't see spending $879892442 on a turbo timer that shows your revs, battery life, 1/4 time, geneva time, outside temp, tide level, moon phase etc.

I always believed in getting the cheapy HKS one that was JUST a timer.

As far as next upgrade I think you need a FMIC more than a turbp timer. Then get rid of that cat.

IC question...I also would like to go single some day...what IC would would work with the twins and also with a big single?

I bought the type 0 and just use the auto, usually just runs the car about 22 secs...just enought time for me to be walking away and smile at the person that says "Hey! Your car is still running"
