Newbie... question with hesitation and boost problem

I'm having problem with part throttle, the car bucks, but when i go past that (around 15percent throttle) the car runs fine. I hooked up a wideband and it blips at all the way lean then goes back to around 12. It also happens when the car is in neutral and i bring up the idle to 2500 rpm.

Next problem the car boosts around .6bar all the way to 4500rpm, then it drops to about .2 bar all the way to redline.

Help...

are you running the stock ecu? What mods?

The boost problem is most likely due to something in the rats nest under the UIM, vacuum lines or solenoids. I advice you learn everything you can about how the sequential system works and do a silicone vacuum hose job, otherwise you will be frustrated with problems like this all the time.

Check your TPS readings for the throttle problem. Look for the link in the FAQ thread stickied in this forum or in the Archives section in this forum.

Regarding the boost problem, check to see if your main cat is clogged by unbolting the front and looking in with a flashlight. A clogged cat will look like a shower drain clogged with hair. A non-clogged cat, will look like a honeycomb mesh.

If you are running the stock pre-cat, that might be clogged as well.

A lot of info on these topics can be found in the FAQ thread so spend time reading through that.

If a Solenoid under the UIM is not working correctly, how can you visually inspect them to see if they are not working ?

4500 is the changover when the second turbo comes online. If your boost is falling off at that point its something with the control system. A clogged cat would cause it to spool slower and feel like a dog at lower rpms as well.

Try this link to troubleshoot your boost control system.

^No but you will probably run too much boost w/o it and then you risk blowing the motor. Don't remove it until you inspect it as I recommended. Just unbolt the 2 front bolts and shine a light in there. TAke a pic and post if you want input on what you see.

The link that dhays posted is very useful and you should check it out.

I'm not surprised removing the cat didn't solve the boost problems. Again, it sounds to this uninformed mind that it is a problem with the control system. If you aren't getting good boost in the primary, then you won't get good boost in the secondary. Check out that link that I posted early and start to work through the troubleshooting. The other alternative is to take the car to a rotary shop and have them do it for you.

or if tight on money, don't have the patience to learn the stock system, are at least slightly mechanically inclined, you could do a non sequential conversion. poor mans non sequential is the simplest but doesnt spool as quickly as doing it properly.

i'm not surprised removing the cat bas not helpful either, as mentioned several times it is something in the rats nest/turbo control system.
