first thing is that you WILL spend 80-20k to for a good running FD, whether you buy one, or build one. second is to read the sticky posts and and FAQ's at the top of this forum.

not too hard, just expect it to be rebuild between 75 and 100k mi. needs AST, down pipe and boost guage for reliablity. then normal motor upkeep stuff, new radiator hoses, new vacuum hoses.

also probably will need new rear suspension bushings. a bigger (aluminum) radiator.

it is a 10 year old car after all.

no way i can say whether 9.9k is good or not without alot more info.

You cannot get a good condition FD (3rd gen RX-7, 1993-1995) for $9900. And you sure won't be able to find anything with higher overall levels of performance for that price either.

You can get a 2nd gen RX-7 Turbo (86-91) for a bit less than that. That car will be easier and cheaper to maintain and modify and will still be very quick and handle well. Get some experience with turbocharged rotaries that way and if you like it, then move up to a 3rd gen RX-7.

I'm having a little trouble making out some of your sentances.. but your last post sounds like you arent interested in the Rotary engine?

For 9-10 grand? I'd get a 91-92 Integra GSR and turbo it. Honestly. Fast, reliable and doesn't need anything more than a regular oil change every 3K.

i spelled it out for you and you asked the same question agian in the same post. buying a car isn't something you just go and do, you look around and take time to learn. like reading the stickies and faq's on a forum and using the search function.

we get a few people "wanting an rx7", asking the exact same questions every single week.

with that amount of money you can get an early model 3Si (StealthTT/VR-4) or a 2G DSM (Eclipse/Talon) and can make it pretty fast relatively cheap. With 9K you could build a nutty 1G DSM.

Yea that would be a good idea but, i think hes looking to learn about rotary motors. Also there is no 91 integra gsr.

My bad... I was thinking BUILD DATE... Technically no, there isn't a 91 GSR..

There isn't a 92 FD in the states either... But my VIN is April '02.

And also... More than one of us answered his question. He stated himself that the rotary engine is more than he wants to get into... and asked what OTHER cars he could get for the $ he previously stated.

I tried to help... But looks like it went nowhere... AS USUAL.
