www.howstuffworks.com has a great technical explanation of the rotary engine. there are several out there, but i love this one. It is very complete with animations, etc.

93rexseven,
rx-7s aren't known for there reliablity...the rx-7 have gotten it's reputation through misuse and a lack of education...this does not mean the car is completely bad and bad for a daily driver....the mpg is not the best and the rotary engines take paitence and you have to baby it...i've had mine for 4 months and i love it...but dude, you got 255 hp out of a 1.3 liter engine..what do u expect??? ya know?? put a upgraded turbo in a gsr or a civic si and you'll run into more problems......it's all how you look at it and what fits your needs the most...the fd is a great car and hoenstly the handling and looks you get form girls is easliy worth maintaining it and added costs down the road..also,..enjoy life bro...just read more on the threads and see if this is the right car for you....just don't be repetitive in your questions. good luck

93rexseven,

If I were you save your money... buy a 1st gen Rx7. Then if you can deal with that and you like it. Then look at the 3rd gens. Plus having a first gen if you wreck it then you'll only be messing up a 3k car. Not a 9k, plus you'll respect the boundries of the 3rd gens' suspension alot more. And last but not least. Having a N/A 12a or 13b you'll see how far you can push a rotary before it breaks. They are worth it but its not for everyone.
